This book is a vast tome of knowledge of web design covering CSS to scripting, flash and more. It explains in very simple terms the techniques that have to be employed to make a successful website and get it on the internet. It also has a large section on how to use Adobe Dreamweaver correctly.
Computer Games Text, Narrative and Play.
This book is one of the most insightful and important that i have read. it gives information on genre including how to observe players and their reaction to varying situations throughout the game to guage a upcoming outcome. There is also a section about 'games and gender' this could be an important tool in the future as to get female audience members interested in gaming. As it is primarily a male orientated activity.
Understanding Video games The essential Introduction.
It has a in depth article on the rise of the games industry from 1996 to the mid 00's it also has information about where games are most popular and what kinds of games are popular.
