Events

Here I will talk about events that we have been to and plan to go to in the future!

The Iseries45 event i went to in Telford was the first ever event we went to, it was a real learning experience for us as press, it showed us several things including but not limited to:

1) Bring the correct kit, not too much not too little, we found that the camera with fig rig setup was far to big to comfortably carry around with us at all times and at many points it just ended up getting in the way, for this event we took a PD170 camera, Fig Rig, Gun Microphone, Sure Microphone and a Marantz.

2) Organize interviews before you go. This wasn't such a big deal at this event simply because all of the players and their coaches were fairly forgiving with us, allowing us to interview their players regardless; we also went around the stalls of the various products that were being sold like gaming hardware.

3) Bring more of a crew, it was a struggle as there were only two of us to get the footage that we needed as well as editing it; as the industry is of such a nature where the content you make has to be live much before everyone else's this was somewhat of a necessity.

The overall coverage of the event was somewhat a success as we were able to arrange interviews on the fly. it was clear that some people clearly saw the fact it was the first event that we were covering and gave us some breaks. the organizers of the event were a massive help and let us get into areas where people can usually go.

At this event we met some of the guys from Desports and Machinima reloaded (Machinima reloaded being one of the largest subscribed gaming orientated YouTube channels on the web).

The insomnia Coverage prompted an explosion of subscribers for our YouTube channel and acted as a really nice launchpad for us.

WCS UK SC2 Nationals

The Starcraft 2 UK finals was a small triumph for us as we effortlessly got some content that many would hunt after. We managed to get an interview with the Starcraft 2 UK Champion directly after he won and we also got to talk to Tastosis (Very High level Starcraft 2 Commentators)  although the event only spanned for one day we found ourselves getting a lot of very unique and dynamic content.  We also managed to put all of the changes that we felt form the Iseries coverage into effect and make it a smoother run operation, the videos being edited on the coach on the way back from London and the uploaded directly after, with only a few hours turnaround time.
