Desports Research

Also known as Definitive eSports, they are very closely related to what I wanted to do for this project, they are a very new venture and I have had the pleasure of meeting them several times in person at events. They have a very good eye for news and are very up to date. Their website is very clean cut, cold and technical, just how a website of this calibre should be to suit the target audience, it is also remarkably simple to find your way around it. They have an archive feature so you can go back and see what was happening at a previous time, and their website is very well connected with social media, be it Twitter to Facebook or Google+. Their website seems to run off Wordpress, a CMS (Content management system) with the ability to let viewers follow their posts through Wordpress's blogging system.

They have a constant RSS feed off their YouTube channel so the viewers are always updated. Their stream is embedded where ever you turn so when they do go live you will not be missing it if you are on their website. Also there is a scheduling page where you can see all of the upcoming shows on their stream.

Desports relates to my intended project in a very large way as this is how I would carry out my online exposure, their content is very newsy and up-to-date and on that front that isn’t what I am setting out to do, however their coverage of events, online exposure methods and their streaming capability is something I would be inclined to be influenced by. They use both VOD's of streams and live streams to show that they have content that can entertain 24 hours a day.

As the audience of eSports is a online based community, the need for decent social network coverage is greater than in any other genre before. The audience can range from very casual viewers to the outright fanatical and it is good to see that D-eSports has all the bases covered.
