Day 9 Research
Sean Plott also known as Day 9 was a world champion pro gamer he has now turned to making content for the eSports community, he has several live shows that all have separate angles, to entertain to inform and so on, he is one of the most prominent figures in eSports today and has many dedicated fans and followers. This is possibly aided by the fact that he is somewhat of a comedian and this makes him instantly personable. He is one of the most well-known and well respected commentators for the eSports (mostly Starcraft 2) community. He is extremely active on social networking platforms but mostly active on twitter as people want to hear from him more than anything because of how personable his whole set-up is. However Day 9 has received some criticism lately due to the massive amount of branding he undertakes, this could be down to other establishments feeling that he is getting too powerful in the genre and almost monopolising it, or just the fact that nobody else at the moment sells themselves quite as well as he does. Day 9 relates to my intended project because of the way his content is managed and laid out. Firstly he creates shows that the viewer will want to come back and watch because they give more that commentating and analysis and that is his personality. But secondly he has a very set routine of how he broadcasts his content. Monday is fun, Tuesday is educational, and so on. This structured way of streaming his content has definitely made his content far easier to follow for his audience as he is always there same time each day. |  |
