Field Research
This part relates to the experiences I have faced whilst going to events and meeting the professionals that keep the industry turning.
The press room
At Iseries we were provided with a press room in where we could produce our work, this had a very fast internet connection and a lot of space. it was shared with many other eSports websites all trying to get their fill, Frag Radio and Machinima Reloaded were in attendance, both fairly large names in the eSports industry.
This room was open 24 hours a day with another similar room opposite that was for broadcasting, This was the best press setup i had seen for an event yet. It shows that events of this nature are prepared to accommodate members of the press in a significant way as to allow them to be able to promote their events effectively.
The encounters
We had several opportunities and encounters whilst out at the events, some of these were set up at a prior date and others were on the fly. For instance we asked Zictomini ( the now SC22 UK Champion) for a interview directly after he won his title but we had to set up our interview with Bling (SC2 Pro). it seems that most pro gamers are happy to talk to the media with more or less no fuss unless they are part of a big gaming team like liquid or evil genius. Below you can find the videos for both of these interviews.
Community input
In the beginning back in January when we first started putting content out on the internet we had to listen to what the community was telling us about the formats that we were using for the casts and the techniques, not to mention that some of the techniques evolved on a trail and error basis) below are some of the pieces of advice that the community fed us, in order to help us better produce content in the future.

As can be seen, the original comments on improvements and so on were quite critical but this helped me address a lot of problems and better help the audience enjoy the experience i was bringing to them, therefore they may be more inclined to come to the site more often. Below is one of many positive comments just to show that they aren't all negative.
