Press Pass
The press pass is a extremely important document to cover a event with it allows you to get into any location inside the event you wish, it also makes you entitled for several other things like free entry, a place to work and of course most of all permission to film in their public domain. the last point of course being the most important. the first press pass i acquired with Archon eSports was at the I45 festival it took several emails as they have to confirm that you are actually interested in covering the event rather than taking advantage of the free entry that the press pass provides.
Whilst working under a press pass it is very important not to impede the event too heavily and not to get in anybody's way, to ensure that you might get invited back as press for the future events. it is also key that a high level of professionalism is maintained at all times.
Whilst trying to arrange interviews with some audience participants of the at the Iseries festival we felt put on the spot because they vocally criticized any form of press, probably confusing press with newspaper paparazzi. So we made sure to be very careful when asking for interviews off the audience in the future.
Press passes can most commonly be attained from the websites of the holders of events, and extra evidence of what your organisation does can sometimes be in order.
